Recently during one of our local Choose FI meetups in Philadelphia someone posed the question, “What is more important, increasing income or reducing expenses?” The answer seemed simple enough, you would work to increase your income and reduce your expenses. Right?
To date, I have mostly focused on reducing costs as a byproduct of other activities that make a person happy. In this post I am going to turn things upside down and focus on how you can make more money as a byproduct of getting an education.
When I looked at the real numbers, I was shocked. I found that the average person saves about $0.69 per working hour. That implies that the average person values their own time at this rate whether they realize it or not.
